Current and Upcoming Fundraising Events

It is true we live in an expensive area and options would be limited if we were to remain nearby. We believe God places us in this central area of the South Bay for His reason, and we will continue to seek God’s guidance when we pray for our future home.

Our current efforts are to concentrate our search that is within a driving distance of 15-20 minutes from where we are.

確實,我們目前正置於一個昂貴的地區,如果我們在這附近找會堂,當然選擇會有限,但我們相

信上帝既然將我們安置在南灣的這個中心區域,一定是有祂的旨意,我們禱告繼續尋求上帝的指

引。我們目前找的會堂是集中於開車距離我們現在教會所在位置 15 至 20 分鐘的範圍內。

Initially we prayed for either purchasing or leasing, and asked brothers and sisters to pray about it as well. Most favor purchase after praying.  We then followed with a lease vs purchase analysis. The result of the analysis makes us realize that between the two, making a purchase would be more feasible and make more financial sense in the longer run, although each choice would come with its own set of challenges. For example, raising a large sum of capital to make a purchase would be a major challenge; and to qualify for a lease, most landlords would require tenants to show proof of stable income to support the rent payment over a period of 3 years. Furthermore, if we lease, we would not be able to recover the renovation costs when we move out.

起初我們禱告是否要購買會堂，或是要租賃，並請弟兄姊妹也為此禱告。大多數人禱告後是偏向購堂。之後我們也做了租賃與購買的分析，分析結果在兩者之間，購買的可行性比較大，從長遠的角度來看，在財務上也比較合算。這兩種選擇各有不同的困難要克服。例如，購堂要籌大量資金是一項重大挑戰；而另一方面，為了獲得租賃資格，大多數房東會要求租戶出示三年的穩定收入證明，來支持租金的負擔。而且，如果是租賃的話，我們搬走時無法收回裝修成本

We don’t have a clear answer yet, but this topic is central to our fundraising team. The team members are actively discussing and formulating a plan, but we would not make any decision without receiving clear direction from God through prayers. One thing is clear, if God gives us a clear signal to act, we will respond.

我們還沒有明確的答案，但這正是我們募款團隊正在積極討論的議題。團隊成員正在考量如何擬定計劃，還沒有透過禱告得到上帝明確的指示之前，我們不會做出任何草莽的決定。一旦神給我們清楚的訊息，我們會回應。

We run on a lean budget, and it is conservative. Currently, our budget supports one full-time pastor and one intern, and other expenses are moderately low. We believe God will lead us and grow our congregation, and as such financial support will proportionately increase.

我們的預算很精儉，而且很保守。我們目前只支持一位全職牧師和一位實習生，其他費用偏低。我們相信上帝會帶領我們並增添我們的會眾，因此財務支持也會相應增加。

The capital that we already raised will be earmarked as building fund to be deployed for the next opportunity.

我們已籌集到的資金將保存給建堂基金專用，繼續尋找下一個購堂的機會。

We do not have a definitive answer. From our past experience, God provided just what we needed. We believe that as long as God takes the lead, He will provide.

I also don’t have a good answer. It all depends on the ongoing contribution, the magnitude of the ongoing operating expenses, and how we finance the purchase.

Everyone has a different viewpoint and it’s understandable. We always look for signs from our God to affirm our actions.

The lease of our current building will expire in June 2025. After that, the lease will most likely be converted to month-to-month; either that or the landlord would ask us to vacate.

Our current landlord is involved in a lawsuit, so we think extending the lease for a longer period would be unlikely.
